Historical use of the territory and its importance for the future protection of important species along the Bavarian-Czech border
The bilateral Czech-Bavarian project, supported by the Interreg program, is implemented in the years 2020–2023 by four partners on both sides of the border: the Faculty of Natural Sciences of Charles University, BUND Naturschutz in Bayern, the Faculty of Biology and Preclinical Medicine of the University of Regensburg and the T. G. Masaryk Water Management Research Institute, v. v. i. The project is focused on solving the issue of the decline of populations of rare and endangered species of plants and animals in the Rokytnice and Lužní potok basins in the area of the Ašsky outcrop and the Pfreimd river basin in the Český les and Upper Palatine Forest area, respectively.
