Ing. Tomáš Fojtík appointed the new director of TGM WRI
As of February 1, 2023, Ing. Tomáš Fojtík became the new director of the T. G. Masaryk Water Research Institute.
Mr. Ing. Tomáš Fojtík replaced Mr. Ing. Tomáš Urban, who held the position of director of TGM WRI since January 2018.
Ing. Tomáš Fojtík was born in 1981 in Prague. He graduated from the Faculty of Business Economics at the Czech University of Life Sciences. Here, in 2008, he obtained a bachelor’s degree, and in 2011, an engineer’s degree. He has been working at the T. G. Masaryk Water Research Institute since 2004, as a researcher in the GIS and cartography department; since 2015 he is the head of this research department.
Ing. Tomáš Fojtík adds to his appointment: “I see as my main priority the consolidation of the organization and its development into the position of a recognized and functioning institute of national and European importance with such a working culture and environment that it is a target and prestigious workplace for quality and satisfied experts.” Furthermore, it is important to strengthen cooperation with state and public administration, academia and the private sector. It is also necessary to underline the role of the institute as a unique and independent research base in the field of water management and water protection. My indisputable advantage is my knowledge of our institution, with which I have been connected throughout my nearly 20-year professional career.”
