Professional support in flood risk assessment and management
Mitigation of the adverse effects of floods in the Czech Republic is a current society-wide need, which is also contained in the Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council on the assessment and management of flood risks (2007/60/EC), the so-called Floods Directive. As part of the support for the Ministry of the Environment central flood authority activities, the Brno branch proposed procedures and suitable tools for the process of implementing the Floods Directive for the conditions of the Czech Republic.
